The foundation of life is a living relationship with Jesus Christ. “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3: 11) The foundation is not a set of rules, dogmas or doctrines that must be digested spiritually. It is not some agenda that must be followed. We are called into an intimate. living relationship with the person Jesus Christ. We are called to abide in Him and Him in us. We can not build our lives on any other foundation than that relationship or it will be built on sand and it will collapse. Take note in Jesus’ parable of “building your house on the rock” that the storms did not destroy the house. The faulty foundation caused the downfall. It was built on that which was unstable, porous, shifting and weak. It was not built on an intimate and obedient relationship with Jesus. We are called to build on the rock or cornerstone.
Since 1999 we have offered the course Lifting Up Eagles which helps acknowledge and build on that foundation. The course is for everyone but especially those who are new to our fellowship here at Prince of Peace House of Prayer. It gives us a great opportunity to build covenant relationships as well as build on our foundation in the Lord. This season especially is a time for the gathering of eagles.
The course will start at 7 PM on Wednesday, August 12, in the Fellowship Hall. Please let Pastor Tom (email him at firstname.lastname@example.org) know if you will be attending so that adequate materials are made ready See you on the 12th!
